Tony Langhorne

As COO, Tony oversees day-to-day operations, project delivery, and field execution across MODRN's active engagements in NY and NJ.
Tony Langhorne is the Chief Operating Officer of MODRN Inc. and a co-founder of the firm, which was established on January 29, 2022. Tony oversees company operations, drives growth through efficient processes and strategic planning, manages high-value construction projects from estimate through delivery, and leads cost estimating on engagements up to $3 million. He has built MODRN's long-term client, supplier, and subcontractor relationships and continues to negotiate the agreements that secure repeat business across the firm's public-sector engagements with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the New York City School Construction Authority, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Before MODRN, Tony spent more than six years at DBC Inc. in partnership with TDX Construction as Project Manager and Quality Manager, working on the New York City School Construction Authority Mentor program and a portfolio of New York Power Authority engagements. Notable assignments included the $43.5 million campus-wide utility upgrade at Bronx Community College Phase V (joint venture with The Liro Group), the $18 million Phase IV utility upgrade, and a $4.5 million site improvements program at the Statue of Liberty National Monument for the National Park Service.
Tony began his professional career in 2014 as an Architectural Designer at Zyscovich Architects, where he developed compositional and logistical analysis for project models, prepared 3D renderings, and authored construction documents for filing. Concurrently, he interned in the Department of Design Management at Columbia University Facilities, supporting the Manhattanville Campus expansion through field documentation, marketing materials, and construction-document review.
Tony is committed to investing in the next generation of public-sector construction professionals. In 2025, he served as a Construction Industry Trainer and Consultant for the NYS Business Growth Accelerator Training Program through the Business Outreach Center Network, mentoring more than fifty MWBE and small construction firm owners on contract administration, lien law, scheduling, change order management, and NYC and NYS regulatory compliance. Earlier in 2024, he developed and led an intensive construction drawings and specifications training program for more than forty field and office professionals across multiple NYC-area construction firms. Since November 2025, Tony has served as Parent Liaison on the Career & Technical Education Architecture Advisory Board at West Orange High School in West Orange, New Jersey. Tony is also a member of the Rotary Club of West Orange, New Jersey.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Design from Columbia University and an Associate of Arts in Architectural Design from Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida. He holds OSHA 30 and OSHA 10 certifications. He lives in West Orange, New Jersey.
