Louis Tinsley

Louis Tinsley is a Site Superintendent at MODRN Inc. He oversees field execution and safety compliance on multi-million-dollar public works projects across New York City — conducting site inspections, coordinating subcontractors, and enforcing adherence to OSHA and NYC Department of Buildings standards. Louis leads toolbox talks, safety meetings, and corrective trainings to maintain a zero-incident safety culture, and maintains comprehensive site documentation, safety logs, and daily progress reports.

Louis joined MODRN in January 2025 after more than eighteen years as Project Manager at Dymond J Construction Corp. in Brooklyn, where he directed field operations on New York City School Construction Authority projects including P.S. 86K and I.S. 49 — managing scopes spanning interior glazing, drywall, plaster, custom millwork, and VCT flooring across 8,000 square feet of interior renovation. He produced daily field reports, tracked RFIs, and served as the project's primary liaison with SCA inspectors.

Earlier in his career, Louis served as Head Estimator and Project Manager at Paladin Construction Corp. in Brooklyn, overseeing commercial and municipal builds from bid through closeout — managing schedules, budgets, and safety for interior fit-outs, structural work, and envelope upgrades, reviewing shop drawings, and issuing subcontracts. He also served as Supervisor at Archco Construction LLC in Elizabeth, New Jersey, overseeing field crews on residential builds and office fit-outs, balancing production and quality across layout, framing, drywall, and finishing work.

Louis began his career in 1985 as a Union Carpenter with Locals #157, #580, and #6 in New York City, executing heavy civil and interior packages on landmark projects including the Bronx Criminal Courthouse (installation of light structural steel, over 100,000 square feet of mechanical and inoperable louvers, and 30,000 square feet of fire safing), the Journal Square Transportation Hub in Jersey City for the Port Authority of New Jersey (metal ceilings, doors, and storefront systems), and Lutheran Hospital in Brooklyn (glazing, automatic doors, and structural steel and aluminum cladding at the canopy).

Louis brings more than 40 years of field and office experience across union and prevailing-wage projects with agencies including the School Construction Authority, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and the NYC Department of Design and Construction. He holds OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification, the NYC Site Safety Training (SST) Supervisor Card, and FDNY Fire Guard for Impairment certification. He retired from the carpenters' union in 2024 after nearly four decades as a Union Carpenter, and brings deep hands-on expertise in construction drawing reading, estimating, project scheduling, change order management, and contract negotiation.
